Hello forum people how are things going for you. Me I got to take my daughter out on her first overnight trip on a Hubbard's party boat for her 16th birthday. I call her Storm Girl because every trip she goes on it seems to rain and get stormy. Well we headed out Friday night around 8pm to some deep water off of the coast of Clearwater. The main target fish for this trip was red snapper but we looked forword to catching what ever would come biting at our lines. We fished in 140 to 150 foot of water for the most part. The bait of choice was spanish sardines and pin fish. The pin fish worked best on the AJ's and grouper. While the cut bait worked best on the snapper. For the live bait we used single #6/0 hooks with an 80 pound leader. For the cut bait we used 5/0 hooks with 50 pound leaders. The water temp was in the upper 80s and the wind blow most of the trip. But we made the best of it and got some good fish. For our part we got mango snapper ,red snapper , grouper , AJs and some others as well. Storm Girl had 3 shots at her big AJ but she could not land a big one. She did get a small AJ and some nice grouper for her self. This was a great trip for both of us she had a blast and I got to spend some time with her at his fun point in her life. We headed home Sat. night and got back to the dock early Sun. morning. Here is a show I made and some pic's from the trip.
