We’ve been having beautiful winter weather here in Tampa Bay Florida and the fishing has been great! The red tide is non existent now and fishing back to normal. The main catches during our Tampa Bay fishing charters have been seatrout, sheepshead, black drum, flounder, redfish, and a snook here and there. We’re using a combination of artificial lures and shrimp fished under a cork or on the bottom. Spring is right around the corner and fishing dates fill up quickly. Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you would like to book a charter or have any questions about the fishing.

Holidays are among us! Winter time fishing usually sees us fishing for seatrout, sheepshead  (good eating), flounder, and redfish. We’ll be using a combination of artificial jigs and shrimp to catch these tasty fish. If your looking for things to do while on Thanksgiving or Christmas vacation in Tampa St. Petersburg area fishing is a great way to spend time with family.

Weather has the boat stationary this week. As soon as this tropical system passes we’ll be back at it. Fishing has been really good lately and will only get better into fall.

Tight lines!

It’s mid August and the water hovers around ninety but the fish are still biting. Fishing areas of moving water and fishing the bay early or late is key. The captains are mostly out fishing snapper, shark, mackerel, and a few snook and redfish here and there. Most of the T storms have been afternoon and not much concern. This time of year is the easiest to get a last minute trip in since most schedules are finding more free time now that vacationing has slowed. Call today to book your next Tampa fishing charter!

Seatrout remain a strong option with shrimp fished on edges of grass flats being our best bet latley. Sheepshead are on every dock and more than willing on the same shrimp with a split shot.  Reds make an appearance randomly while dock fishing and have been small to medium sized. Bait fish are available but deep. Snook have pushed their way out of canals and  I’m seeing them on the flats.

With some slightly cooler mornings and low to mid eighty degree water temps fishing is getting good. The redfish are in the usual shallows but we’ll spread out which is keeping fishing pressure down. Snook are feeding well if the water is flowing good. Spanish mackerel are in quarter acre size schools all over the bay with sharks not far behind. Mangrove snapper have been a real highlight this year as they’ve been everywhere I go. They are great by catch, good to eat, and fun to fish for. It’s a fall smorgasbord feel free to text or call for up to date reports and open fishing days..
